Touch is a public health issue. Let's treat it like one.
I'm a partner of the Pro-Touch Movement, which champions the role of safe, consensual touch in health and wellbeing. Skin hunger and loneliness are real, and they affect real people. The movement exists to start honest conversations about them, and I'm glad to be part of it.
What the Pro-Touch Movement stands for
Touch is a basic human need, not a luxury
Consent and clear boundaries come first, every time
Training and standards make touch-based work safer for everyone
Honest conversation beats embarrassment and stigma
What I do for the movement
Speak at events and in the media about touch deprivation
Run awareness work, including our Pro-Touch Awareness Month content each October
Train practitioners to professional, ethical standards through CPI
Volunteer with us
There are plenty of ways to help, whether or not you work in touch therapy.
Share and amplify awareness campaigns
Help at events, talks and community sessions
Offer your skills, such as writing, design, video or admin
Spread the word in your workplace, community group or network
You don't need any experience. You only need to care about the subject and be willing to treat it respectfully.
